This change affects users’ videos in the following ways:
(1) VideoPros is no longer able to support free video management services. Starting July 4, 2010, all video management services will be “pay-for” services on our upgraded video platform.
We will be rolling out a new “free” service (for licensing videos) in the future (see below for details).
(2) All videos and players accessed through the VideoPros “videos” and “players” navigation links will no longer be available for management and viewing, including viewing in existing embedded players.
(3) All videos and projects accessed through the VideoPros “vidego” navigation link will continue to be available for management and viewing, including viewing in existing embedded projects. Users wishing to continue managing and viewing videos, including viewing in existing embedded projects, will need to select a month-to-month service plan based on usage levels. We will be contacting all users with “vidego” access prior to July 4, 2010 to highlight the new features of the upgraded platform, pricing plans, and provide updated login information to access the service. Existing users are eligible for a complimentary free trial of the new platform.
VideoPros is also updating its scope of services. We’ve received great feedback from you, our users, the past two years that our videographer directory has not been effective in helping you generate more business. As a result, we will be deactivating this part of our service on July 4, 2010. However, you’ve found our licensing functionality to be cutting edge and very useful. In light of that, part of our team is spinning off into a new and exciting venture.
We’ve quietly been working on a concept to help you sell and rent (aka license and distribute) your videos online. It is free for content owners. You can check out what we’re up to and grab a beta invite. So far thousands of people have already signed up for beta invites. Now it’s on us to deliver. Don’t worry, we’re workin’ overtime…
